Here in Sauwald, Upper Austria, we tend to think a little different. We don't like to take the beaten path, but prefer to blaze our own trail. And for like-minded people, walking on our trail can open up new horizons.
That's the reason why we make different shoes. Shoes that are good for your feet. Using all-natural materials, we craft them with love and respect for the tradition of shoe-making.
Our shoes feature unique design and an independent character for people who have the courage to swim against the stream of anonymous fashion. People who are confident in their personal sense of style.

Form follows function for "healthy" shoes.
"Healthy" shoes don't have to be ugly. But they may be a bit different. Different, because they refuse to slavishly follow the dictates of fashion, and instead have grown and developed from basic anatomical and orthopedic principles.
The shoes we've created following this philosophy are fascinating in their unique design, from the uppers down to the unusual, individual soles.
A river takes uncounted ages to carve out a bed where it may flow freely. Our feet haven't got that much time in the space of their short lives. Instead, let's put them in a bed that provides them with the freedom they need and that works together with the complex interplay of muscles, tendons and bones that make up our feet.
That's why we take the greatest care not only while crafting each model, but also when we create the last, a model for shaping the shoe. The last and the pattern determine whether your foot will feel good in the shoe or not.
And to make sure that the fit lasts for the life of the shoe, we leave the shoe on the last for several hours, in good old shoemaker tradition.

Nature is as nature does.
Wherever your foot comes in contact with your shoe, we only use vegetable-tanned leather, 100% of the time in most models.
We obtain the natural tannins from ground bark extracts of plantation-planted trees. Although vegetable-tanned leather is more costly to produce and more difficult to process, its benefits speak for themselves:
- Porous, allowing your feet to breathe
- hypoallergenic
- moisture-absorbing
- and toxin-free (no risk of heavy metal allergies!).
